Building in Oklahoma

The ground here moves. We build for that.

Oklahoma sits on expansive clay. It swells when it's wet and shrinks when it's dry, and over a few seasons that movement is what cracks decks, shifts coping and opens up plumbing joints. A pool designed for sandy Florida soil and dropped into a Tulsa or Oklahoma City backyard will tell on itself within a few years.

We engineer the structural shell and the steel schedule for the site we're actually on. That means a soil-appropriate design, a deck that's jointed to move without cracking, and plumbing runs with enough tolerance to survive the ground shifting around them.

The other Oklahoma factor is freeze-thaw. Winters here are short but they're real, and a pool that isn't plumbed and winterized correctly will find that out. We build with the freeze in mind and we walk you through closing the pool the first year so you're not guessing.

What we build across the state

  • New gunite and poured-in-place concrete pools, designed to your yard rather than a catalog shape
  • Pool remodels, replaster and resurfacing, waterline tile and coping replacement
  • Equipment upgrades, re-plumbs and automation
  • Outdoor living spaces — patios, outdoor kitchens, fire features, retaining walls
  • Full backyard renovations where the pool and the hardscape are designed together

Common questions

Oklahoma pool questions, answered.

How much does a custom pool cost in Oklahoma?

It depends on size, shape, finish and site access. We give a firm number after a site visit rather than a range over the phone — access and soil conditions move the price more than square footage does. The visit and the quote are free.

How long does a build take?

Most residential builds run eight to twelve weeks from excavation to startup, weather permitting. Permitting varies by municipality, and spring rain is the most common cause of delay.

Does Oklahoma clay cause pool problems?

Expansive clay moves with moisture, which is why structural design and the steel schedule matter more here than in sandy regions. We engineer the shell and deck for that movement instead of using a one-size plan.

Can you remodel an older pool instead of replacing it?

Usually yes. Most tired 1990s pools are a sound shell with a failed surface. We inspect the structure first and tell you whether you're looking at a resurface, a full remodel, or a replacement — before you spend anything.

Do you handle permits?

Yes. Permitting, utility locates and inspections are part of the build. You don't chase paperwork.
